Hue Boy

by Rita Phillips Mitchell

This heart-warming interactive storytelling performance transports you to a Caribbean village where Tutti Frutti brings to life this delightful Smarties Prize winning book.

Hue Boy has a problem that everyone is talking about. He is small and doesn’t seem to be growing “at all, at all”. His family and the villagers all have their opinion on what he should do and his school friends tease him. But still he does not grow.

Hue Boy may be the smallest boy in his village but he is big news. Pumpkin soup and exercise are just some of the suggestions to make him grow.

With a vibrant set, original soundscape by Ivan Stott, movement by Joanne Moven, the show is set in a beautiful environment under a colourful parasol that creates a special place to enjoy this unique interactive experience.

‘It is the best production I have seen for the children’s age’ – Cleethorpes Library

‘Under the Parasol [Hue Boy] rates as one of the best enrichment experiences I have seen in 30 years of education’
– Drighlington Primary School

‘Families including babies were captivated.  Outstanding!’
– Rothwell Library
