Tutti Frutti is proud to announce the launch of its 2025 Impact Report, an in-depth look into the positive impact of the Tutti Frutti Club on the lives of primary school-aged children in the Harehills and Burmantofts areas of Leeds.

The Tutti Frutti Club, now in its third year, runs weekly after-school sessions at Hovingham Primary, Harehills Primary, Shakespeare Primary and in local libraries in school holidays. These clubs provide a consistent and creative outlet for children, many of whom come from a wide range of l backgrounds. Guided by professional local artists, the children have explored everything from drama and storytelling to music, movement, circus skills, and puppetry.

Wendy Harris, Artistic Director of Tutti Frutti and Chair of PYA England explained; “I am delighted to share this report that brings together the perspectives of our Tutti Frutti colleagues, artists, and educators who have been instrumental in the club’s success,” she stated. “The report highlights their crucial role in fostering creativity, self-expression, and confidence in young people in Leeds.”

Julian Gorton, Headteacher at Shakespeare Primary School emphasised the importance of arts education; “Fundamentally, the arts are crucial to a healthy society,” he remarked. “It’s something that we believe in school and the fact that young people have the opportunity to explore that part of their intelligence is very important. You could argue that creativity is the beginning of everything… our role in that is with young people in giving them the opportunity to find out how enjoyable it is and how successful they can be within that sphere.”
