Wild! selected for the 39th Annual IPAY International Showcase

We’re incredibly excited that our Spring 2016 production Wild! has been selected for the 39th annual IPAY International Showcase, which this year will be held in Madison, Wisconsin, USA from  January 18-21, 2017.

Through a highly competitive and rigorous jury process, 17 full-length productions and 10 excerpt spotlights have been selected to participate in Showcase. Highlights will include giant jellyfish puppets from the Black Hole Theatre of Australia, a Brazilian company’s re-telling of the story of Sinbad using bamboo mobile structures that turn into ships, giants, birds ect., and a newly commissioned theatrical production from the Kennedy Center, Darius and Twig.

Growing in size each year, Showcase 2017 is expected to attract more than 450 delegates. The group, which will include artists, presenters and producers from around the world, will gather together to enjoy the unique charm of Madison, while developing new collaborations and building tours to reach children throughout North America and beyond. It’s a huge honour to be one of the selected companies.

WiLd! captures the life of 10 year old Billy from his funny, quirky, distracted view of the world.  In this beautifully written show, we see the world through the lens of a boy who has ADHD.  Billy develops a passion for bees and takes over the care of his absent father’s bee hive which helps him escape from his chaotic family and difficult time at school. With live music, this uplifting, funny and moving production leaves us thinking about how we might better understand others and ourselves. Written by award-winning playwright Evan Placey, this brave new play celebrates all things ‘wild’.
